LONG BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT
Energy Project & Elementary School Upgrades
Problem
Long Beach School District (LBSD) engaged PATH to evaluate its existing energy profile and identify possible efficiency solutions. District administration desired a project that could generate sufficient savings for not only an energy upgrade program, but also additional deferred maintenance LBSD needed to tackle in the immediate future.
Solution
PATH analyzed, audited, and designed an energy project that included comprehensive upgrades to LBSD’s lighting, HVAC controls, and load management infrastructure. These energy efficient measures implemented by PATH created substantial savings for LBSD, thereby creating the ability to install efficient, hurricane-rated windows and doors. The two elementary schools selected for the windows and door upgrades received a much needed aesthetic upgrade in addition to a solution providing safety and security during the annual storm season on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
